Background
Brimley Area Schools (the District) is seeking qualified vendors to submit proposals for a Districtwide Intercom and Paging System Replacement. This project aims to replace the outdated communication system with a modern, code-compliant, IP-based or hybrid intercom solution that meets the District's public address, emergency notification, and classroom communication needs.
This initiative is part of the District's modernization priorities for K–12 facilities, identified in the Brimley Area Schools Facility Assessment (September–November 2025), and aims to enhance safety, accessibility, and operational efficiency across all campus buildings.
Work Details
The project requires a turnkey installation that includes design, procurement, installation, configuration, and commissioning of a complete intercom and paging system for all District facilities. The system components must include:
- Approximately 52 classroom call stations
- 99 indoor speakers/horns
- 8 outdoor speakers/horns
- Administrative consoles for key operational areas
- Integration with telephone and network infrastructure
- Emergency alerting and lockdown system integration per NFPA 72
- UPS or generator power resiliency
- A five-year core system warranty and one-year labor/material warranty
- Training for staff
- 30 days of post-installation support.
The system must support emergency paging, two-way classroom communication, emergency warning and alert systems (interior and exterior), and scheduled bell control. Components should be compatible with or equivalent to systems such as CareHawk CH2000 IP or CH1000 analog. All installation work must comply with OSHA, MIOSHA, and NEC standards.
Period of Performance
The project is expected to be completed by August 2026.

Bidder Requirements
Vendors must provide proof of insurance and licensure. They must certify compliance with the Buy American Act and applicable Trade Agreements Act provisions. Vendors are required to disclose any familial relationships with the Brimley Board of Education or its Superintendent.
Additionally, vendors must not be engaged in transactions with entities subject to economic sanctions administered by the U.S. Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), including countries such as Iran, North Korea, Russia, Syria, or Cuba. The vendor certifies that no equipment or services provided under this contract include products manufactured by Huawei, ZTE, Hikvision, Dahua, Hytera or their subsidiaries.
