Professional Development Event Planning MDE - CTE - RFP

Background
The Michigan Department of Education issued this Request for Proposal (RFP) to select a contractor for providing assistance, facilitation, professional development, and event planning services specifically tailored for Michigan Career & Technical Education (CTE) educators.
The goal of the contract is to enhance the educational experience and support for CTE educators in Michigan.
The contract is set for an initial term of one year, with the possibility of up to seven one-year renewal options.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for:
1. Organizing and managing conferences with over 1,000 attendees.
2. Managing vendors with large equipment relevant to Career and Technical Education.
3. Developing, organizing, and managing workshops, conferences, trainings, vendor expos, and sponsorships focused on CTE educators.
4. Handling extensive financial management tasks including processing attendee registrations, online event management, billing and invoicing of vendors/registrants/speakers/venues, and records management.
5. Arranging travel for vendors and speakers.
6. Negotiating contracts with vendors, speakers, exhibitors, and venues.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of one year from the date of award, with options for up to seven additional one-year renewals.

Place of Performance
The services will primarily be performed in Michigan as they relate to Michigan Career & Technical Education events.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate extensive experience in organizing large conferences, managing relevant vendors, and financial management related to event planning.
They must also have a clear strategy for engaging with the State of Michigan as part of their proposal.
