HMA Skip Paving - M-15 in Oakland County

Background
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) for the purpose of performing HMA (Hot Mix Asphalt) patch repairs along M-15 in Oakland County. The goal of this contract is to enhance the safety and integrity of the roadway by addressing existing pavement issues through specified repair activities. The work will be conducted between Glass Road and Granger Road, focusing on full-length/full-width paving and targeted patch repairs.

Work Details
The contractor will perform asphalt patch repairs that include:
- Full-length/full-width paving from Glass Road to Duck Lake Bridge Deck.
- Two small patches south of Glass Road and one patch north of Duck Lake Bridge Deck.
- Milling, removal, and disposal of existing bituminous asphalt.
- Installation of binder and finished course of hot mix asphalt.
- Providing traffic control as per MDOT standards.
- Installing pavement markings according to MDOT specifications.
- Ensuring compliance with High Visibility clothing requirements for all personnel on site.
- Conducting cold milling and paving of 2 inches of existing mainline pavement, replacing pavement markings, and spot milling/surfacing crossovers as directed by MDOT.
- Utilizing MDOT approved design mix 5EMH with PG 70-28P for skip paving, ensuring a minimum compaction rate of 92% with third-party density testing.

Period of Performance
The anticipated contract begin date is September 11, 2024, with a deadline to complete all work by October 31, 2024.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed along M-15 between Glass Road and Granger Road in Oakland County, Michigan.
