GRPS Ken-O-Sha Asbestos Abatement and Demolition

Background
The Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) in Kent County, Michigan is issuing this solicitation for the abatement of asbestos-containing materials at Ken-O-Sha Park Elementary.
The goal of the contract is to safely remove hazardous materials to ensure a safe environment for students and staff.

Work Details
The project involves the removal and disposal of asbestos-containing materials, including hard plaster, drywall, flooring, vermiculite, and vermiculite contaminated CMU block.
Additionally, it encompasses the demolition of specified areas as well as the complete demolition of Unit E, which includes roofing, slab foundation, walls, and other structural components.

Period of Performance
The project is scheduled to begin no earlier than February 2, 2026, and must be substantially completed by July 1, 2026.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Ken-O-Sha Park Elementary School located at 1353 Van Auken Street SE, Grand Rapids, Michigan.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a bid bond, certified check, or cashier’s check payable to Grand Rapids Public Schools in an amount equal to five percent (5%) of the total price with their bid.
This surety will bind the bidder for a period of 60 days after receipt of bids.
