Fire Extinguisher, Kitchen Hood & Sprinkler Services

Background
Chippewa Valley Schools, located in Clinton Township, MI, is seeking proposals for district-wide fire extinguisher, kitchen hood, and sprinkler system services. The goal of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to source a responsive and responsible bidder to provide full-service inspections, repairs, and services as per the requirements outlined by the District. The selected vendor(s) will be expected to offer the best value for fire alarm equipment, parts, installation, and repair services.

Work Details
The awarded vendor will provide full-service inspections, repairs, and maintenance for fire extinguishers, kitchen hoods, and sprinkler systems across all District buildings. Specific tasks include:

- Yearly maintenance of fire extinguishers including recharging and hydrostatic testing as defined by state laws.
- Semiannual maintenance of automatic fire extinguishing systems including wet or dry chemical systems.
- Inspections of kitchen hood systems and replacement of fusible links as needed.
- All services must comply with National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) codes and standards.
- The vendor must provide a barcode testing system with reporting capabilities on www.buildingreports.com.
- The vendor is responsible for replacing any missing barcodes on devices and ensuring all inspections are communicated with the Maintenance Department prior to service.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on September 1, 2025, and run until August 31, 2026. There is an option to extend the contract annually for up to five additional years upon mutual agreement.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations within Chippewa Valley Schools in Clinton Township, MI.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit a Certificate of Insurance evidencing required coverage prior to commencement of work. They must also possess all necessary licenses and certifications required by law to perform the specified services. Additionally, bidders should not have any felony convictions related to controlled substances or sex offenses involving children.
