Fire Alarm System

Background
Williamston Community Schools is seeking proposals for the replacement of an outdated fire alarm system at Williamston High School. The goal of this Request for Proposal (RFP) is to engage qualified professional fire alarm system designers/installers to design, supply, and install a new fire alarm system that complies with current fire alarm codes. This initiative aligns with the district's commitment to ensuring safety and compliance within its facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following services:

1. Removal of existing fire alarm equipment and devices as required.

2. Design and installation of a new Fire Alarm system that meets current codes, including:
- Design and CAD plan documentation of the new system (a CAD base plan will be provided).
- Submission to the State of Michigan Bureau of Fire Services for plan review.
- Responses to state reviews to complete the project (permits will be reimbursable).
- Supply and installation of new fire alarm equipment, devices, and wiring as specified.
- All conduit must be buried in ceilings and walls where possible; visible conduit should be placed in Wiremold, color specified by the district.
- Any necessary electrical revisions required for the installation of the new system.
- Final reviews and documentation required by the State of Michigan for Building Occupancy.
- Training for district employees on the operation of the completed system (recording encouraged).
- Any additional items necessary for complete fire alarm replacement, including new mechanical smoke detectors if required.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence after award and must be completed by March 10, 2025.

The work will take place at Williamston High School located at 3939 Vanneter Rd, Williamston, MI 48895.
