Custodial/Maintenance Services

Background
The Oak Park School District is seeking proposals for custodial and maintenance services to support its facilities.

The district's mission is to provide a clean and safe environment for students and staff. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all school facilities are maintained to a high standard, including regular cleaning, maintenance, and snow removal services.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing custodial and maintenance services across multiple facilities within the district. Key responsibilities include:
- Daily cleaning of all facilities, including classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
- Snow removal from entrance ways and sidewalks surrounding each facility, especially during heavy snowfall (10+ inches).
- Maintenance of flooring types: 80% tile and 20% carpet throughout the district.
- Refurbishing gym floors as scheduled by the district (not included in the contractor's responsibilities).
- Purchase of cleaning chemicals (district supplies consumables like paper products).
- Staffing requirements include day custodians at $17/hour, lead custodians at $18/hour, and other staff at $16/hour. Overtime is billable for snow removal and weekend events requested by the district.
- The contractor must provide all necessary tools and equipment for maintenance tasks but will not be responsible for lost or damaged items due to neglect.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on December 1, 2024, with an initial term of nine months through June 1, 2025. Subsequent terms will cover full years from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026.
