Curb & Gutter, M-Openings Repair; M-1 Oakland County

Background
The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is issuing this Request for Proposal (RFP) to solicit a Prequalified Maintenance Contractor for concrete curb and gutter repairs along northbound and southbound Woodward Avenue (M-1) in Oakland County.

The goal of this contract is to ensure the integrity and safety of the roadway by addressing existing issues with curb and gutter structures, thereby supporting the agency's mission to maintain effective transportation infrastructure.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Removal and disposal of existing concrete curb and gutter.
2. Installation of new concrete curb and gutter, including Detail M openings.
3. Adjustment of catch basins as necessary.
4. Provision of traffic control measures during construction activities.
5. Compliance with MDOT's Standard Specifications for Construction, specifically the 2020 Edition, as well as any relevant special provisions or supplemental specifications.

Specific requirements include:
- Conducting work under high visibility safety standards;
- Notifying MDOT Program Manager at least 7 days prior to starting work;
- Protecting storm drains and inlets from pollutants;
- Performing saw cutting under wet conditions to minimize dust;
- Ensuring proper removal techniques to avoid damage to adjacent structures;
- Placing concrete repairs on the same day as removal or as approved by the MDOT Program Manager.

Period of Performance
The anticipated contract start date is February 1, 2025, with a deadline for completion of all work set for June 30, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed along northbound and southbound Woodward Avenue (M-1) from the Loop to Square Lake Road in Oakland County, Michigan.
