Background
The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) is seeking bids from qualified vendors for the provision of Buy America Compliant Cummins ISB and/or ISL Factory engines, Buy America Remanufactured Engines, exhaust systems, and powertrain components.
The goal of this contract is to ensure reliable service and maintenance for Gillig and Nova Transit buses, aligning with AAATA's mission to provide safe and efficient public transportation.
Work Details
The contractor will provide the following products and services:
- New Buy America Compliant Cummins ISB and/or ISL Factory engines
- Buy America Remanufactured Engines
- Non-Buy America New and Remanufactured Engines
- Aftertreatment systems
- Exhaust systems
- Powertrain components
- Installation and repair services of all associated components on Gillig and Nova Transit buses.
The contractor must ensure that all installation work is completed within seven business days after the arrival of parts at their facility. Responsibilities include labor required to swap engine components, testing vehicles post-installation, quality control checks, and providing necessary certifications for Buy America compliant parts. Additionally, on-site support services will be provided three times weekly at AAATA's facility.
Period of Performance
The contract will be for one year with four optional extension years, starting from the date of award.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the contractor's facility as well as at the Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority located at 2700 S. Industrial Highway, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed or authorized to install Cummins engines, use only manufacturer authorized parts, and be a Cummins Certified Distributor. Employees performing installations must be Cummins Certified Technicians. Bidders are required to comply with AAATA’s Living Wage Policy.
