Commercial Cleaning Service - DSS#2 Janitorial/Custodial

Background
The City of Detroit, through its Office of Contracting and Procurement (OCP), is seeking quotes from qualified vendors to provide commercial cleaning and custodial services for various buildings throughout the city. This contract aims to ensure that city facilities are maintained to high standards of cleanliness and hygiene, which is essential for the health and safety of city employees and the public. The contract will be awarded only to approved suppliers under the Detroit Supply Schedule #2 (DSS#2) for Janitorial/Custodial services.

Work Details
The vendor will provide comprehensive cleaning and custodial services, including but not limited to:

- Planning, organizing, coordinating, directing, and training custodial staff.
- Maintaining continuous availability of trained personnel.
- Performing high cleaning tasks (cleaning surfaces 72 inches or more above the floor).
- Providing emergency cleaning services 24/7.
- Ensuring all services conform to applicable codes and regulations.
- Managing supplies and equipment necessary for cleaning tasks.
- Conducting bio-hazard clean-up as needed according to OSHA standards.
- Performing daily, weekly, monthly, and annual cleaning schedules at designated facilities.
- Providing management oversight for operational staff.
- Ensuring effective communication with city staff.
- Maintaining records related to service delivery.

Specific tasks include cleaning waiting rooms, exam rooms, break rooms, elevators, stairwells, entryways, and loading dock areas. The vendor must also supply all necessary cleaning materials.

Period of Performance
The contract will have a term of two (2) years from the date of award. Services will be performed on a regular schedule as outlined in the specifications provided in the RFQ.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations throughout the City of Detroit as specified in the RFQ.
