Classroom Glass Removal & Drywall Replacement

Background
Essexville-Hampton Public Schools (E-HPS) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to improve the insulation and privacy of classrooms at Garber High School. The goal of this project is to enhance safety and energy efficiency by removing glass windows and partitions in classrooms and replacing them with drywall.

Work Details
The scope of work includes:
1. Removal of all glass windows and partitions in designated classrooms.
2. Proper disposal of all glass and debris in compliance with local regulations.
3. Installation of drywall in place of the removed glass, including framing and finishing.
4. Painting of drywall surfaces, including primer and two coats of finish paint.
5. Any necessary repairs to the structural integrity of walls and frames during installation.
6. Ensuring that the new drywall complies with fire and building codes.

Period of Performance
The project is expected to start after the contract award date, which will be as soon as possible following the proposal due date on August 13, 2025. The required completion date is January 2, 2026.

Garber High School, located at 213 Pine St, Essexville MI 48732.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have at least 5 years of experience in commercial construction or similar projects. They must provide proof of current liability insurance and workers’ compensation coverage, possess all necessary state and local licenses and permits required to complete the work, and ensure that workers undergo background checks complying with school district safety policies.
