Capital Fundraising Consulting: Library Expansion

Background
Henika District Library is seeking proposals from qualified fundraising consultants to develop and assist in implementing a comprehensive fundraising plan for an expanded library facility. The proposed expansion aims to increase the library’s size to between 8,000 and 9,000 square feet, enhancing functionality, accessibility, and overall community service capacity. The total projected cost of the project is approximately $4.5 million, with a fundraising goal of $1.5 million by December 1, 2026.

Work Details
The consultant's responsibilities will include:
- Attending an initial project kickoff meeting;
- Conducting a fundraising capacity audit to identify strengths and weaknesses;
- Creating a detailed prospect list of potential donors;
- Developing a clear and actionable fundraising plan along with a pitch deck;
- Providing ongoing consulting support during implementation;
- Assisting in planning and executing fundraising events;
- Submitting monthly progress reports.

Deliverables include a Fundraising Capacity Audit Report, Comprehensive Prospect List, and Fundraising Pitch Deck.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence upon award on October 15th, 2025, with completion expected by December 1st, 2026.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at Henika District Library located at 149 S. Main St, Wayland, MI 49348.

Bidder Requirements
Consultants must have experience in fundraising for capital projects exceeding $1 million. They should demonstrate the ability to secure major gifts from diverse donor bases and have experience planning and executing fundraising events for community resources such as libraries or schools. Additionally, they should have worked on publicly funded projects, collaborated with public officials, and assessed organizational fundraising capacity.
