Background
New Buffalo Area Schools (NBAS) is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to undertake concrete work for improvements at their baseball field. The goal of this contract is to enhance the facilities for athletic and spectator use, ensuring durability and accessibility.
Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary to complete the following tasks:
1. Site Preparation: Removal of grass and debris, grading and forming of all work areas, and compaction of subgrade.
2. Walkway Installation: Installation of a 6-foot wide concrete walkway from the dugout to Clay St., with final layout and elevations verified with NBAS prior to installation.
3. Bleacher Pad Construction: Approximately 8,000 square feet of concrete will be poured, including a compacted stone base suitable for concrete placement. Concrete specifications include a thickness of 6 inches for bleacher seating areas and 4 inches from the walkway to the first section of bleachers, using 4000 PSI concrete.
4. Finishing: Pouring and finishing all concrete surfaces, saw cutting slabs not exceeding 8' x 8' sections, and final cleaning and washing of all surfaces.
Period of Performance
The project is scheduled to start no earlier than July 1, 2026, with a proposed start date and estimated duration to be included in the contractor's proposal.
