Background
The Ann Arbor Area Transportation Authority (AAATA) is seeking bids from qualified vendors for the provision of Buy America Compliant Allison ISB and/or ISL Transmissions, including remanufactured transmissions and associated parts.
The goal of this contract is to ensure reliable transmission systems for Gillig and Nova Transit buses, aligning with AAATA's mission to provide efficient public transportation services.
Work Details
The contractor will provide the following products and services:
- New Buy America Compliant Allison Transmissions to pair with Cummins ISB and/or ISL Factory engines;
- Buy America Remanufactured Transmissions;
- Installation, repairs, overhauls, and rebuild services for all associated components on Gillig and Nova Transit buses.
Services will be provided on a by-request basis, including technical consultation during installation, pre-delivery inspection, troubleshooting, software updates, training for personnel on transmission operation and maintenance, emergency repair services, scheduled preventative maintenance, diagnostic services using electronic tools, performance testing, failure analysis, warranty repairs, and technical consultation.
The contractor must ensure all work is completed within seven business days after vehicle delivery.
Period of Performance
The contract will have a base period of one year with four optional one-year extensions. The total duration may extend up to five years depending on the exercise of extension options by AAATA.
Place of Performance
Services will primarily be performed at the AAATA facility located at 2700 S Industrial Highway, Ann Arbor, Michigan 48104. On-site support may also be required as requested by AAATA.
Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be licensed or authorized to install Allison Transmissions or approved equivalents. They must use only manufacturer-authorized parts and processes. Bidders should also provide valid Buy America Certifications prior to payment. Additionally, contractors' employees performing installations must be Allison Certified Technicians.
