Background
The State of Michigan Department of Natural Resources - Parks and Recreation Division is issuing a Design-Build contract for the installation of solar photovoltaic (PV) arrays and electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at Straits State Park, located at 720 Church Street, Saint Ignace, MI 49781.

The goal of this project is to provide sustainable energy solutions that will offset electricity usage for two utility meters and enhance public access to EV charging facilities.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the design and construction of solar PV arrays and EV charging stations. Key components of the work include:
- Design and installation of solar PV arrays to offset electricity for two utility meters.
- Installation of publicly accessible EV chargers.
- Coordination with local utility companies for electrical interconnection.
- Conducting a topography survey and soil borings as needed.
- Ensuring all work complies with state and local codes including SESC and EGLE regulations.
- Providing updated schedules at each meeting, with a minimum of three team meetings during the design phase and bi-weekly progress meetings during construction.
- The connection of new service to existing service shall be underground, preferably through directional boring.
- All solar arrays are assumed to be ground-mounted.

Period of Performance
The work is to be completed outside the normal camping season, specifically between May 15 and September 15, 2025.
