Background
The State of Michigan, through the Department of Technology, Management and Budget, is issuing a contract for storm drain and roadway improvements at the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital.

The project aims to enhance infrastructure related to stormwater management and roadway conditions, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards.

Work Details
The contract includes two main scopes of work:

1) Storm Drain Repairs (File No. 491/23070.CAK): This involves the removal of existing storm structures and pipes, abandonment of storm sewer pipes, installation of new storm structures with perforated pipes in gravel trenches, and restoration activities including topsoil installation and turf restoration.

2) Replace Existing Roadway (File No. 491/23071.CAK): This includes full-depth asphalt removal, HMA crushing and shaping, concrete curb and sidewalk removal, site grading to proposed elevations, installation of new concrete sidewalks with ADA ramps, 8-inch concrete paving, C4 curb and gutter installation, HMA paving (two lifts), parking striping, reinstallation of existing signs, and turf restoration.

Period of Performance
The contract is expected to be completed within 60 calendar days from the start date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Kalamazoo Psychiatric Hospital located at 1312 Oakland Drive, Kalamazoo MI 49008.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a performance bond and a payment bond for bids over $50,000.

Each bid must be accompanied by a five percent bid guarantee. Bidders are required to have a current State Project Registration in compliance with PA10 of 2023. Additionally, bidders must certify their status as either a Qualified Disabled Veteran or Michigan-Based Business as per state regulations.
