472/24327.CTS; Saginaw CF - Basketball Court Repair/Replace

Background
The Michigan Department of Corrections is issuing a solicitation for the repair and replacement of basketball courts at the Saginaw Correctional Facility, located at 9625 Pierce Rd., Freeland, MI 48623. The goal of this contract is to ensure the basketball courts are brought up to current standards for use by inmates and staff.

Work Details
The contractor is required to repair or replace the existing basketball courts, which includes:

1. Compliance with the latest state construction code and National Fire Protection Association standards (NFPA 20, NFPA 7b, NFPA 70e).
2. Removal of existing materials including asphalt and concrete as specified in the plans.
3. Installation of new basketball court surfaces including:
- Basketball goals with metal nets and backboards at a height of 10 feet.
- Concrete foundations with sonotubes for basketball posts.
- Bituminous wearing course and leveling course as per MDOT specifications.
4. Proper grading and drainage to ensure longevity of the courts, including the use of topsoil, seed, and mulch where applicable.
5. Adherence to safety regulations set forth by OSHA and MIOSHA.

Period of Performance
The contract period will commence upon award and is expected to be completed within a timeframe that aligns with the construction schedule outlined in the bid documents.

All work will be performed at the Saginaw Correctional Facility located at 9625 Pierce Rd., Freeland, MI 48623.
