Background
The Oaks Correctional Facility, operated by the Michigan Department of Corrections (MDOC), is undertaking a project to enhance accessibility through the installation of ADA-compliant egress ramps and related infrastructure improvements.

This initiative is part of the State of Michigan's commitment to ensuring that all facilities meet accessibility standards, thereby improving safety and compliance with federal regulations.

Work Details
The project scope includes:
1. Furnishing and installing three new ADA-compliant ramps at Housing Units 1, 4, and 7.
2. Installing new exit doors from existing exit stairs to the new ramps.
3. Constructing associated sidewalks for safe access.
4. Installing temporary and permanent control fencing with gates at each housing unit.
5. Installing new drainage systems, including catch basins and trench drains, to connect with existing storm drainage structures.

Period of Performance
The contract work is expected to commence around March 31, 2025, with a completion date set for July 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Oaks Correctional Facility located at 1500 Caberfae Highway, Manistee, MI 49660.
