Background
Grand Rapids Public Schools (GRPS) is seeking professional design expertise to execute its Building Improvement Plan as part of the 2023 Bond Program, known as 'Reimagine GRPS'. The goal is to renovate several school facilities to enhance educational environments and meet current and future needs. The selected Professional Service Contractor (PSC) will provide a full range of architectural and engineering capabilities for the renovation projects.

Work Details
The scope of work includes architectural and engineering design services for the renovation of the following schools:
1. Ottawa Hills High School - $11.7 million budget
2. Ken-O-Sha Elementary - $21.1 million budget
3. Alger Middle School - $6.4 million budget
4. Dickinson Elementary - $1.5 million budget
5. Cesar Chavez Elementary - $1.1 million budget

Specific tasks include:
- Developing separate entry points and administrative spaces for middle school programs at Ottawa Hills High School, along with classroom upgrades and performing arts auditorium enhancements.
- Renovating Ken-O-Sha Elementary to accommodate new educational programs with necessary classroom upgrades and potential demolition of excess space.
- Renovating Alger Middle School to serve elementary scholars, including adding toilet rooms for younger grades and improving playground facilities.
- Making minor facility improvements at Dickinson Elementary, focusing on flooring, HVAC controls, lighting, and secured entrance upgrades.
- Performing building envelope repairs and playground upgrades at Cesar Chavez Elementary while maintaining its LEED Certification.

Period of Performance
Renovations are expected to begin in spring 2025 and be completed by the start of the 2026-27 school year for most projects, with specific timelines varying by project.
