Lawn Care Services - Presque Isle District Court

Background
The Maine Judicial Branch (MJB) is seeking lawn care services for the Presque Isle District Courthouse. The goal of this contract is to maintain the grounds of the courthouse, ensuring a neat and healthy appearance through various lawn care and maintenance services. This RFP outlines the instructions for submitting proposals, selection criteria, and contractual terms governing the relationship between the State of Maine and the awarded bidder.

Work Details
The work includes comprehensive lawn maintenance services at the Presque Isle District Court located at 27 Riverside Drive, Presque Isle, Maine. Services include:

1. **Lawn Maintenance**: Weekly mowing with specific height adjustments per season:
- Spring: 1.5-2.5 inches
- Summer: 2.5-3.5 inches
- Fall: 1.5-2.0 inches.
All clippings must be collected and disposed of off-site. Edging around tree rings, plant beds, sidewalks, and other surfaces must be performed regularly to maintain a neat appearance.

2. **Spring/Fall Clean Up**: Includes removal of winter debris, raking leaves in fall, and cleaning flower beds after the growing season.

3. **Landscape Plant Maintenance**: Pruning shrubs and trees (limited to branches up to 15 feet), watering trees throughout the growing season, cultivating and weeding flower beds three times during the growing season, and replenishing mulch annually in fall months with dark mulch type at a depth of three inches.

4. **Optional Services**: Replacement of annual flowers once per year as needed.

Period of Performance
The initial period of performance is from April 30, 2026 to April 29, 2027, with two potential renewal periods extending to April 29, 2029 and April 29, 2031.

The contract will be performed at the Presque Isle District Court located at 27 Riverside Drive, Presque Isle, Maine.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must carry liability insurance and workers' compensation coverage as required by law for themselves and any subcontractors used. They must also obtain any necessary licenses or permits for activities on Department property.
