Description

Functional Family Therapy
Background
The Maine Department of Corrections (DOC) is seeking to implement Functional Family Therapy (FFT) as part of its mission to reduce youth incarceration and recidivism rates.

The Division of Juvenile Services (DJS) aims to promote public safety by providing risk-focused interventions and quality treatment for juveniles under its jurisdiction. FFT is recognized as an evidence-based practice that aligns with the DOC's goals.

Work Details
The contract involves the provision of Functional Family Therapy (FFT), which is a structured, evidence-based intervention designed to improve family functioning and reduce juvenile delinquency.

The selected vendor, Spurwink, is the only agency in Maine licensed to deliver FFT. The therapy will be delivered by trained therapists who have undergone specialized training and receive ongoing consultation to ensure fidelity to the model.
