Aeration System Upgrade

Background
The City of Bangor, Maine is seeking bids for the Reaeration Blowers and Aeration Diffusers project at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. The purpose of this contract is to enhance the efficiency of the wastewater treatment process by replacing outdated equipment.

The project aims to ensure compliance with environmental standards and improve operational reliability.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the following tasks:
1. Remove and replace existing reaeration blowers.
2. Remove and replace aeration diffusers and associated appurtenances as detailed in the project drawings and specifications.
3. Remove and replace drain valves.
4. Perform additional work as indicated in the plans, including removal and reinstallation of existing gratings, metal plates, railings, and hardware necessary for completion.
5. Coordinate with ongoing operations at the Wastewater Treatment Plant to minimize disruption.

Period of Performance
The contract work is to be substantially completed within 365 calendar days from the date of the Notice to Proceed. Final completion is required within 60 calendar days following substantial completion.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 250 Apollo Drive, Chelmsford, MA 01824.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must provide a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials Bond, each in an amount equal to 100% of the total bid price. Bidders should ensure compliance with all local regulations and obtain necessary permits prior to commencing work.
