Background
The City of Gaithersburg, located in Montgomery County, Maryland, is seeking proposals for vending services to provide, install, operate, and maintain mechanical food and beverage vending machines for both City employees and the general public.
The City aims to promote healthy eating options by requiring that at least 50% of the items in the vending machines meet the 'Fit Pick' requirements set by the National Automatic Merchandising Association (NAMA). The City reserves the right to request changes in products offered, which must be accommodated by the Contractor or justified if rejected.
Work Details
The Contractor will be responsible for:
1. Providing new or like-new vending equipment recognized by health authorities.
2. Ensuring all machines can accept cash and credit/debit cards.
3. Delivering and installing equipment at specified locations in an attractive configuration.
4. Responding to service calls within 24 hours for non-operational equipment or product complaints.
5. Maintaining cleanliness of machines and removing spoiled products regularly.
6. Providing a variety of healthy snacks and beverages as per specifications outlined in the solicitation.
Period of Performance
The contract will have an initial term of one year with automatic renewals for up to four additional one-year terms, unless terminated with a 90-day notice.
Place of Performance
Vending services will be provided at various City facilities including but not limited to: Activity Center, Aquatic Center, Casey Community Center, City Hall, Public Safety Building (Police), Public Works, Robertson Park Youth Center, Skate Park, Future Building (Opening 2027), and Water Park.

Offerors must comply with State of Maryland bid requirements and must be qualified to bid under §16-202 and §16-203 of the State Finance and Procurement Article of the Annotated Code of Maryland.
