Stationary Engineer Services At Western Maryland Hospital Center

Background
The Maryland Department of Health (MDH), specifically the Western Maryland Hospital Center (WMHC), is seeking proposals for professional Stationary Engineer services. WMHC is located in Hagerstown, Washington County, and serves residents requiring in-hospital treatment programs. The facility spans 22 acres and includes five buildings totaling 207,099 square feet. The hospital's boiler room contains three boilers that provide essential heating, hot water, and steam services throughout the facility.

Work Details
The contractor will provide Stationary Engineer services which include:
- Monitoring steam production
- Maintaining logs of pressure and temperature
- Managing combustion air flow and fuel consumption for three dual fuel boilers
- Testing and treating various water systems
- Operating a 400-ton chiller and associated air conditioning units
- Ensuring compliance with inspection and licensing requirements for the boilers.

The contractor must also maintain a logbook of hospital readings and ensure that all operations are documented electronically. Staff must be certified as a First Grade Stationary Engineer by the Maryland Department of Labor.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of twelve (12) months from the date of award.
