Snow Removal Contract

Background
The Department of General Services is issuing this solicitation for snow removal services at the Silver Spring District Court/Multi-Service Center, located at 8552 Second Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910. The goal of this contract is to ensure safe and accessible parking areas and roadways during winter weather conditions.

The contract will be managed under the authority of the Facilities Operations agency of the State of Maryland.

Work Details
The contractor shall provide all necessary snow removal equipment, operators, insurance, fuel, maintenance for equipment, and materials such as sand and salt to clear snow and ice from all parking areas and roadways on the grounds of the Silver Spring District Court/Multi-Service Center. Specific requirements include:
1. One (1) four-wheel drive vehicle with a mounted snow plow and salt spreader.
2. One (1) front-end loader for snow disposal as directed by State Personnel.
3. One (1) dump truck equipped with a salt spreader if the four-wheel drive vehicle is not on site.
4. The contractor must commence snow removal operations within two hours after notification from the Maintenance Supervisor/Designee.
5. The contractor is responsible for ensuring that all storm drains remain clear of snow and ice.

Period of Performance
The contract will be effective for three years, starting from November 1, 2024, through April 30, 2027.

Place of Performance
The primary location for performance is at 8552 Second Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20910. An additional site at 191 E Jefferson St, Rockville MD 20850 (back ramp) may be utilized if requested.
