Security Guard at HCPSS

Background
The Howard County Public School System (HCPSS), governed by the Board of Education of Howard County, serves approximately 58,000 students across 78 schools. Its mission is to ensure academic success and social-emotional well-being for each student. This Request for Proposal (RFP) is issued to solicit proposals from qualified vendors to provide unarmed security guard services throughout Howard County Public Schools.

Work Details
The contractor will provide unarmed security guard services at various locations within the Howard County Public Schools. The services include maintaining a safe environment for students and staff, monitoring school premises, responding to incidents, and collaborating with school administration and local law enforcement as necessary. The contract is intended to cover a five-year period with two additional one-year options.

Period of Performance
The anticipated contract start date is October 1, 2026, with an initial duration of five years and the possibility of two one-year extensions.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at various locations throughout Howard County Public Schools in Maryland.

Bidder Requirements
Offerors must be registered with the Maryland Department of Assessments and Taxation and in good standing. They must comply with all federal, state, and local laws applicable to their activities under the resulting contract. Additionally, contractors are required to conduct criminal history background checks on all employees assigned to work on this contract.
