Background
Prince George’s County Public Schools (PGCPS) is the 20th largest school district in the United States, serving over 131,000 students across 208 schools and centers. The district prioritizes safe and secure environments for students, staff, and visitors.
The Fleet Services Building (FSB) is a critical facility that supports district-wide transportation, maintenance, and logistics operations. Protecting access to this facility is essential for safeguarding district assets and maintaining operational efficiency. PGCPS is seeking proposals for the design, installation, integration, and commissioning of a modern electric security gate and entry access control system at the FSB to enhance perimeter security and improve access management.
Work Details
The Contractor shall provide all labor, materials, equipment, supervision, and related services necessary to design, supply, install, integrate, and commission a complete electric security gate system at the Fleet Services Building (FSB). Key components include:
- Electric rolling gate with motorized control box and ground loop.
- Access control devices: Genetec HID card reader, Aiphone IX intercom, Genetec AUTOVU LPR camera.
- Support structures: pedestal with housing for card readers and intercom; 15’ camera pole; eight protective bollards.
- Cabling infrastructure including two new Outside Plant (OSP) Cat6 cables; two OSP 18/4 cables; one OSP card reader cable; two 1" underground conduits; two 110 VAC outlets at the gate.
- Installation of all components must comply with federal, state, local codes and PGCPS standards.
- Functional testing of all components including access control systems must be conducted prior to final acceptance. Comprehensive training for PGCPS personnel on system operation will also be required.
Period of Performance
The Contractor shall complete all design, procurement, installation, testing, commissioning, and training activities within 120 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the Fleet Services Building located in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.
Bidder Requirements
Vendors are encouraged to partner with local Offerors or firms if they do not meet all required expertise or MBE requirements. An MBE goal of 15% has been established for this contract. The Contractor may be required to submit performance bonds as specified in the RFP.
