Rfp 2025-064 - Correctional Health Care Services

Background
Calvert County Government is seeking proposals from qualified contractors to provide correctional health care services to detainees at the Calvert County Detention Center (CCDC) located in Barstow, Maryland. The CCDC is a 264-bed facility that houses both sentenced and pre-trial male and female detainees. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all medically necessary and cost-effective health care services are provided in accordance with standards established by the National Commission on Correctional Health Care (NCCHC) and the State of Maryland.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for providing comprehensive health care services, including but not limited to:

- 24-hour coverage by Certified Nurse Assistants (CNA) or Certified Medication Technicians (CMT)
- Medical examinations
- Medication administration
- Management of medical supplies.

The contractor must maintain a high level of quality standards as outlined in the specifications. The CCDC's medical unit includes facilities such as a medical office, examination room, medical cells, padded cell, and isolation cell. The average daily population at CCDC is approximately 130 detainees, with historical booking data provided for context.

Period of Performance
The anticipated start date for this contract is July 1, 2025, with performance expected to continue for the duration specified in the contract documents.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Calvert County Detention Center located at 325 Stafford Road, Barstow, Maryland 20610.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must demonstrate their ability to provide the required services and products effectively. They must have sufficient capital to execute the work within the specified time frame. Additionally, the contractor must comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws regarding health care services.
