On-Call General Contracting Services for Large Projects

Background
The University of Maryland, College Park (UMCP) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) No. 159310 for On-Call General Contracting Services for Large Projects. The objective is to select contractors who can provide construction services on an as-needed basis for projects exceeding $200,000. This initiative aims to support the university's mission by ensuring timely and efficient construction services while encouraging participation from Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs).

Work Details
The selected contractor(s) will be responsible for providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision necessary for construction projects at UMCP and its USM Service Center Client Institutions.

The work will be performed under the University of Maryland's General Conditions of the Contract and may include various types of construction projects with anticipated costs ranging from $750,000 to $3,000,000. No project is expected to exceed $8,000,000. The contract will allow for multiple awards to general contractors.

Period of Performance
The initial contract duration is two years from the date of award, with the option for the university to renew the contract for four additional one-year periods under the same terms and conditions.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at various locations within the University of Maryland College Park campus and potentially at other USM Service Center Client Institutions.
