On-Call Commercial Handyman Work for State Highway Administration

Background
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is seeking bids for on-call commercial handyman work at their Hanover Complex located at 7491 Connelley Drive, Hanover, Maryland. The Office of Maintenance aims to engage a responsible contractor to perform various repair and maintenance tasks to ensure the facility remains in excellent condition. This contract is categorized as a Small Business Reserve Procurement, limiting eligibility to certified small business vendors.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for a range of services including: drywall repairs, door and cabinet hardware replacements, light fixture replacements, faucet repairs, minor plumbing tasks, wallpaper installation, interior and exterior painting, office workstation assembly, general electrical repairs, and light carpentry.

The contractor must provide all necessary materials unless otherwise agreed upon. Specific tasks include repairing doors, windows, walls, ceilings; installing floors and carpets; performing HVAC maintenance; conducting minor plumbing repairs; executing basic electrical repairs; and managing snow removal duties. The contractor must adhere to safety regulations established by OSHA and MOSH.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is thirty-six (36) months or until total payments reach $50,000, whichever comes first.

Place of Performance
All work will be performed at the Maryland State Highway Administration Hanover Complex located at 7491 Connelley Drive, Hanover, MD 21076.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must possess a minimum of five years of commercial construction experience and hold a valid license and bond in the State of Maryland. They must provide proof of experience with similar projects and submit three references with their bid. No subcontractors are allowed without written consent from the contract manager.

Bidders must also maintain required insurance including general liability coverage.
