Oag/Opd Court Filing And Other Courier Services

Background
The Office of the Attorney General (OAG) of Maryland is seeking a contractor to provide daily courier services for the OAG and the Office of the Public Defender (OPD). The OAG serves as the chief legal officer of the State, overseeing legal business and enforcing laws to protect public interests. The goal of this contract is to ensure timely delivery of legal documents between Baltimore and Annapolis, specifically to the Supreme Court and Appellate Court of Maryland.

Work Details
The contractor will provide daily courier services from OAG offices in Baltimore to the Supreme Court and Appellate Court in Annapolis. Services include:
1) Daily court runs for OAG five days a week and OPD two days a week;
2) Pickup at OAG offices at 200 St. Paul Place, Baltimore at 1:30 p.m. and OPD offices at 6 St. Paul Place, Baltimore at 2:00 p.m.;
3) Delivery to Robert C. Murphy Building by 3:00 p.m.;
4) Collection of time-stamped copies of briefs;
5) Additional deliveries as needed to specified Annapolis addresses;
6) Secondary runs in Baltimore and Federal Court deliveries twice a week;
7) On-demand courier services as required.

Period of Performance
The contract is anticipated to start on or about July 1, 2026, with a preferred term of three years.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed primarily between Baltimore, MD, and Annapolis, MD.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must have at least one year of experience in delivering court documents within the last three years. Small businesses and minority-owned businesses are encouraged to apply. Bidders must be registered to do business in Maryland and in good standing.
