Mechanical & Plumbing Construction Projects

Background
The University of Maryland, College Park is issuing a Request for Proposal (RFP No. 149395) for a Master Contract related to Mechanical and Plumbing Construction Projects. The goal of this contract is to select qualified Mechanical/Plumbing contractors who can provide comprehensive services including project-based contracting, maintenance, and repair services across various university locations. This initiative aims to enhance the operational efficiency of mechanical and plumbing systems within the university's facilities.

Work Details
The selected contractor(s) will be responsible for:

1. Project-Based Mechanical/Plumbing Contracting: Providing all labor, materials, equipment, and supervision for projects on a 'Request for Quotation' basis across the University of Maryland College Park and its service centers including Bowie State University, Salisbury University, University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES), Frostburg State University, Center for Environmental Sciences (CES), and Maryland Experiment Stations.

2. Mechanical/Plumbing Services & Repair: Maintaining a service department capable of providing labor and equipment for HVAC-related repairs and component replacements. The contractor must house service personnel within their firm and not outsource these services.

3. The contractor must have a full-service website detailing their offerings and organizational structure as per industry standards.

4. All work performed under this contract must comply with the University of Maryland's General Conditions of the Contract as well as any supplementary conditions outlined in the contract documents.

Period of Performance
The initial contract period is two (2) years from the date of award, with an option to renew for four (4) additional one-year periods at the University's discretion.

Place of Performance
The work will primarily be performed at the University of Maryland College Park and its associated service centers located throughout Maryland.
