Laminating Machine

Background
The Maryland Department of Transportation State Highway Administration’s (MDOT SHA) Office of Traffic & Safety (OOTS) is seeking to procure one (1) laminating machine (Walco 822 or equal) to enhance their capabilities in traffic sign production.
This procurement aims to ensure that the agency can effectively cover traffic signs with reflective materials, thereby improving visibility and safety on roadways.

Work Details
The contractor is responsible for supplying and installing one (1) laminating machine designed to cover traffic signs with reflective material.
The machine must meet the following specifications:
- Minimum width of 48 inches and maximum width of 65 inches.
- Pneumatically controlled nip preferred.
- Rubber covered nip rolls capable of a minimum nip pressure of 7 pounds per lineal inch.
- Speed variable from 3 to 30 feet per minute.
- Includes one unwind shaft for reflective sheeting and one rewind shaft for reflective sheeting liner.
- In-feed and out-feed tables, each 10 feet long.
Additionally, the contractor must provide inside delivery at the shop's floor located at State Highway Administration, Office of Traffic & Safety, 7491 Connelley Drive Building #2, Hanover MD 21076, complete installation/setup of the machine, and operator training covering safe use, loading materials, setting parameters, troubleshooting, and maintenance.

Period of Performance
The vendor has 90 calendar days to deliver the laminating machine after notification of being awarded the bid.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at the State Highway Administration's Office of Traffic & Safety located at 7491 Connelley Drive Building #2, Hanover MD 21076.
