Janitorial Services for Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery

Background
The Department of Veterans & Military Families (DVMF) is responsible for providing a dignified resting place for veterans and their eligible dependents at state veterans cemeteries in Maryland.

The Cheltenham State Veterans Cemetery has served over 30,000 veterans since its establishment in 1978. This solicitation seeks bids for janitorial services to maintain cleanliness and sanitation at the cemetery's facilities, ensuring they reflect the respect owed to those interred there.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive janitorial services at the Cheltenham Veterans Cemetery, specifically within the Chapel/Shelter, Administration Building, and Maintenance Shop. Services include:
- Weekly cleaning (twice a week on Mondays and Thursdays)
- Bi-annual deep cleaning
- Trash removal
- Surface disinfection
- Vacuuming carpets
- Mopping floors
- Cleaning restrooms, windows, and light fixtures.

The contractor must supply all necessary labor, materials, and equipment (except those provided by the cemetery) and adhere to environmentally preferable purchasing standards as outlined by Maryland's Green Purchasing Committee. A detailed list of cleaning products must be submitted for approval prior to contract commencement.

Period of Performance
The contract will last for three (3) years from the date of execution with no option periods.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must be certified small businesses under Maryland law and possess three years of relevant experience.
