Background
The contract is issued by an agency requiring the installation and maintenance of an IBM z16 Mainframe Server at Recovery Point, located in Germantown, MD.
The goal of the contract is to ensure disaster recovery capabilities and ongoing support for the z16 server, which is critical for the agency's operations.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a five (5) year Capacity Backup (CBU) contract allowing the agency to adjust the z16's capacity settings for Disaster Recovery (DR) testing or actual disasters.
This includes 10 DR tests over the contract term, each lasting up to 10 consecutive days, with provisions for replenishment.
In case of a disaster incident, support can extend up to 90 days.
The contractor must also deliver an executable version of the IBM CBU contract.
Additionally, the contractor will provide five years of IBM premium hardware maintenance coverage for the z16 CBU server, which includes a 12-month initial warranty and 48 months of extended warranty.
Services required include:
- Installation of a z/16 processor at Recovery Point
- Conducting a Systems Assurance review with vendor technical personnel and IBM Customer Engineers (CEs)
- Generating and testing an IOCP tailored to the environment
- Customizing hardware management console support elements
- Applying necessary software fixes
- Providing product solution development services
- Architecture and design services
- Migration support
- Education for system programmers on CBU system features
- Cable mapping and labeling from systems to peripheral devices
- Coordination with IBM Service Support Representatives for system installation
- Ongoing technical non-defect support for IBM hardware and software.

Period of Performance
The contract will be performed over a period of five (5) years.

The services will be performed at Recovery Point located at 20441 Century Blvd, Germantown, MD 20874.

Bidder Requirements
The contractor must provide an executable version of the IBM CBU contract as part of their bid response.
