Description

Handicapped Door Push Button Inspection and Repair
Background
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) is seeking a contractor for the Handicapped Door Push Button Inspection and Repair project at the Hanover Complex. The goal of this contract is to ensure that all handicapped push buttons function correctly and safely, in compliance with OSHA, MOSH, and ADA regulations. The vendor must employ an AAADM-certified technician for this work.

Work Details
The contractor will perform yearly inspections and provide service calls for all handicapped push buttons at the Hanover Complex. This includes:

- Semiannual preventative maintenance and on-call service.
- Responding to initial service calls within 24-48 hours during business hours (Monday–Friday, 8 a.m.–5 p.m.).
- Testing the function of automatic swing and sliding doors.
- Inspecting all parts of automatic doors for defects or functioning issues.
- Identifying potential code violations per AAADM standards.
- Replacing wireless push plate batteries on automatic swing doors as needed.
- Checking and replacing handicapped button transmitters and receivers for proper function.
- Providing a written report on work performed and current conditions of handicapped accessible doors.

The contract covers buildings 1 to 4 of the Hanover Complex, which includes a total of 20 handicapped buttons across various entrances and restrooms.

Period of Performance
The duration of the contract is thirty-six (36) months.

The work will be performed at the Maryland State Highway Administration Hanover Complex located at 7491 Connelley Dr., Hanover, MD 21076.
