Fr070177_Salt Shed Carpentry Upgrades

Background
The State of Maryland, through the Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) State Highway Administration (SHA), is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure carpentry upgrades for two salt shed buildings located at the District – 7 Maintenance Facility in Frederick County.
The goal of this contract is to finish the interior of these shed structures to enhance their functionality and usability.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for completing the following tasks within each 12’x 32’ shed:
1. Furnish and install approximately 832 sq ft of R-13 fiberglass insulation.
2. Furnish, hang, and finish approximately 1,100 sq ft of drywall.
3. Prime and paint approximately 1,100 sq ft per coat of interior gypsum board surface.
4. Furnish and install approximately 384 sq ft of luxury vinyl plank waterproof flooring.
5. Furnish and install approximately 85 linear feet of 4” vinyl cove base.
6. Furnish and install a 100-amp NEMA rated waterproof electrical panel, service mast with weather head, associated breakers, wiring, receptacles, receptacle covers, LED lights, and one MR-COOL model DYI-12-HP-WM-115C25 mini split system (115 Volt, 12K BTU, 22 SEER) including wall sleeve in each shed structure.
7. Construct a porch deck (4’ x 4’) and a lean-to overhang at the entry door using treated lumber with appropriate framing and roofing materials.
8. Install skirting made from corrugated galvanized steel panels around the shed structure.
9. Install foundation vents for cross ventilation.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is expected to be 60 days from the Notice to Proceed, proposed to be issued on February 4, 2025.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the MDOT SHA District – 7 Maintenance Facility located at 5111 Buckeystown Pike, Frederick Maryland 21704.
