Food Services for A.F. WHITSITT CENTER

Background
The Kent County Health Department (KCHD) is issuing this Request for Proposals (RFP) to procure food services at the A.F. Whitsitt Treatment Center located in Chestertown, Maryland. The Whitsitt Treatment Center is a residential addiction treatment facility licensed for 40 beds and has additional mental health crisis beds. The goal of this contract is to provide comprehensive food services to support the health and well-being of the clients served at this facility.

Work Details
The Contractor shall provide food services including three meals per day and one evening snack, seven days a week, utilizing the production kitchen on-site at Whitsitt. Meals must be served cafeteria style by the Contractor’s employees. The Contractor will supply all necessary plastic ware and paper products, maintain cleanliness and sanitation of all food service areas, and ensure compliance with nutritional requirements as outlined in the Therapeutic Diet Manual.

Menus must be nutritionally adequate (3,000 – 3,300 calories per day) and accommodate various dietary needs. The Contractor is responsible for developing standardized recipes that comply with state regulations, maintaining inventory levels, and ensuring proper storage and sanitation practices.

Period of Performance
The anticipated duration of services under this contract is five (5) years.

Bidder Requirements
There are no specific minimum qualifications required for bidders; however, the successful Offeror must demonstrate the ability to provide all goods and services requested in this solicitation. The Contractor must have a registered dietitian/nutritionist licensed in Maryland for menu planning and nutritional analysis.
