Background
The Maryland Historical Trust, part of the Maryland Department of Planning, is seeking a contractor to replace one heat pump in the Exhibit Building at Jefferson Patterson Park & Museum (JPPM). The goal of this contract is to ensure proper climate control for the secure exhibit room, which houses historic equipment and artifacts. The project aims to maintain specific temperature and humidity levels for both preservation and visitor comfort.
Work Details
The contractor will provide all labor, materials, equipment, and services necessary to replace one heat pump in the Exhibit Building (bldg. 25) located at 10135 Mackall Road, St. Leonard, MD. The work includes:
1. Removal of the inoperative heat pump system, including disconnecting and disposing of the existing unit per state and federal regulations.
2. Inspection of remaining components such as supply and return ducts, grilles, and registers; replacement of any defective parts.
3. Installation of a new heat pump system that meets specified heating and cooling requirements while ensuring humidity control.
4. Compliance with manufacturer’s instructions and local codes during installation.
5. Insulation of refrigerant lines and connection of all electrical components.
6. Installation of new drainpipes for condensate as needed.
7. Conducting operational checks post-installation to ensure all systems function correctly.
Period of Performance
The contractor must complete all work within 90 calendar days from the notice to proceed.

Contractors must hold valid licenses or certifications in Maryland relevant to HVAC work.
