Background
The Department of Veterans & Military Families (DVMF) is responsible for providing dignified resting places for veterans, National Guard, Reservists, and their eligible dependents at state veterans cemeteries in Maryland.

The Crownsville Veterans Cemetery has served over 28,000 veterans since its establishment. This solicitation seeks bids for a licensed and insured contractor to replace the roof and conduct mold remediation on the lower maintenance building at the Crownsville Veterans Cemetery.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for the complete removal and replacement of the roofing system and rot repair at the lower maintenance shop located at Crownsville Veterans Cemetery. The scope includes:

1. Roof Removal: Proper disposal of existing roofing materials, inspection of the roof deck for water damage, and replacement of any damaged sections.

2. Ceiling Repair: Removal and replacement of ceiling materials affected by water damage, ensuring structural integrity is restored.

3. New Roofing System Installation: Installation of new ice and water shields, synthetic underlayment, drip edges, architectural shingles, flashing around penetrations, ridge vents for ventilation, and new gutters and downspouts to ensure proper drainage.

4. Interior Ceiling Repairs/Finishings: Installation of new insulation if removed during repairs, drywall or other ceiling materials finished to match original appearance.

Period of Performance
The anticipated term of this contract is one year from the final date of contract execution.
