Day Porter and Maintenance Services

Background
The Allegany County Department of Social Services (ACDSS) is seeking to acquire daytime janitorial and maintenance services to ensure a clean, safe, and professional environment for both staff and the public visiting their facility.
This contract aims to maintain high standards of cleanliness and professionalism within the ACDSS facility located at 1 Frederick Street, Cumberland, Maryland.

Work Details
The contractor will provide continuous daytime janitorial and maintenance support, which includes:
- Maintaining cleanliness in public areas such as lobbies, waiting rooms, service counters, and interview rooms;
- Inspecting and restocking restrooms;
- Cleaning employee areas including breakrooms and kitchenettes;
- Maintaining entrances and exterior walkways;
- Cleaning hallways, elevators, and common areas;
- Responding to on-call or special requests for immediate cleaning needs;
- Providing all necessary cleaning supplies and equipment while using environmentally friendly products whenever possible.
The day porter must also comply with security regulations and maintain a professional demeanor.

Period of Performance
The contract will be for a period of 12 months, beginning July 1, 2026, and ending June 30, 2027.

Place of Performance
The services will be performed at the Allegany County Department of Social Services located at 1 Frederick Street, Cumberland, Maryland.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must submit their proposals as an hourly rate for 20 service hours per week.
The awarded vendor must provide documentation confirming that a background check has been completed prior to any employee commencing work.
Additionally, proof of commercial general liability insurance with a minimum coverage amount of $100,000 is required.
