Background
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) State Highway Administration (SHA) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) to procure lawn care services for the District 5 Office located in Anne Arundel County. The goal of this contract is to maintain the landscaping and lawn areas at the specified location, ensuring a neat and professional appearance.
Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive lawn care services including:
- Mowing turf areas to maintain a neat appearance, with mowing initiated when grass height reaches five inches.
- Trimming grass around trees, walls, poles, and other objects to match the height of adjacent turf.
- Removal of all plant growth on paved surfaces during each service visit.
- Cleanup and disposal of all debris prior to mowing.
- Ensuring that clippings do not accumulate on paved areas or in flower beds.
- Adhering to safety precautions while operating equipment.
The contractor must provide all necessary equipment including self-propelled mowers and trimming tools.
Period of Performance
The contract will last for a duration of 24 months from the date of award.

Services will be performed at the State Highway Administration District 5 Office located at 138 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.
Bidder Requirements
This is a Small Business Reserve Procurement limited to certified small business vendors. Bidders must have at least two years of experience in providing lawn care services and must provide references as proof. Additionally, bidders must have liability insurance coverage of at least $1,000,000 per occurrence and comply with all local laws regarding business operations.
