Background
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is issuing this Invitation for Bids (IFB) for janitorial services at the D5 District Office located at 138 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD. The purpose of this contract is to renew the janitorial services previously provided and ensure a clean and hygienic environment for the office staff and visitors. The contract aims to procure comprehensive janitorial services that meet the standards set forth by MDOT SHA.

Work Details
The contractor will provide janitorial services for approximately 11,594 square feet of office space, which includes 28 office spaces, 5 bathrooms, a kitchen, a vestibule area, and hallways. Additionally, there is an annex building of approximately 1,958 square feet that includes 4 office spaces and 2 bathrooms. Services include daily cleaning tasks such as dusting, vacuuming, mopping floors, cleaning restrooms, and emptying trash.

Additional work includes biweekly cleaning of porches, quarterly window cleaning for both buildings, carpet steaming and shampooing quarterly, and waxing tile floors quarterly. All cleaning products must meet EPA and OSHA standards.

Period of Performance
The contract duration is set for 24 months from the date of award.

Place of Performance
All services will be performed at the MDOT SHA D5 District Office located at 138 Defense Highway, Annapolis, MD 21401.

Bidder Requirements
This procurement is designated as a Small Business Reserve Procurement; only certified small business vendors are eligible to bid. Bidders must have at least five years of experience in providing similar janitorial services and provide three references from comparable contracts. They must also maintain liability insurance coverage of at least $1 million per occurrence.
