Buffalo 422 Pumping Maintenance Project

Background
The Buffalo 422 Pumping Maintenance Project is issued by the Maryland Department of the Environment (MDE). The project aims to enhance the operational efficiency and safety of the Buffalo 422 pumping system, which is critical for managing water resources effectively.

The goal of this contract is to ensure that the pumping infrastructure is maintained and upgraded to meet current standards and operational needs.

Work Details
The contract work includes:
- Upgrading existing access roads on site as needed;
- Installing a water bar along the access road to the doser;
- Removing sediment and repairing the existing doser inflow and outflow flume;
- Burying existing schedule 80 PVC pipe while reusing as much of the existing pipe as possible, replacing all fittings and valves;
- Relocating the existing pump building to have hookups inside;
- Cleaning the existing pumping sludge pond and disposing of material at a designated location on site;
- Installing an access gate at a designated location;
- Revegetating all disturbed areas upon completion of work.

Period of Performance
The period of performance for this contract will be determined upon award but is expected to span several months, depending on project complexity and contractor scheduling.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at the Buffalo 422 site.

Bidder Requirements
Contractors must be qualified and capable of performing maintenance work on pumping systems.
