Biomedical Equipment Inspection, Maintenance & Repair Services

Background
The Maryland Department of Health, through the Western Maryland Hospital Center (WMHC), is issuing this solicitation to acquire biomedical equipment inspection, maintenance, and repair services. The goal is to ensure that all biomedical equipment used in patient care is operational, safe, and compliant with the standards set by The Joint Commission, CARF, CMS, and other regulatory bodies. This contract aims to enhance patient safety and the quality of care provided by WMHC.

Work Details
The contractor will provide a biomedical equipment technician (BMET) or clinical engineering technician to conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on WMHC's biomedical equipment. Services include:

- Annual, semi-annual, or other interval inspections as per manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Functional testing, calibration, preventive maintenance, and minor repairs of biomedical equipment.
- Preventive maintenance for Central, Respiratory, and Physical Therapy departments during normal business hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 3:30 PM).
- Initial inspections of newly purchased equipment within two weeks of notification.
- Detailed written inspection reports within five business days post-inspection.
- Maintenance of records listing dates of service and results.
- Repair services upon prior approval from the Contract Monitor for both minor (parts under $300) and major repairs (parts over $300). Major repairs require a price list before work begins.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on January 1, 2025, and conclude on December 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
Services will be performed at the Western Maryland Hospital Center located at 1500 Pennsylvania Avenue, Hagerstown, MD 21742.
