Behind the Ear Rechargeable Hearing Aid

Background
The Maryland Hearing Aid and Language and Communication Video Loan Bank (Loan Bank) was established in 2002 to bridge early identification and intervention for infants and toddlers with hearing loss. It provides essential services for young Deaf and Hard of Hearing children in Maryland. The Loan Bank now serves students up to age 21, supporting their language skill development to ensure access and equity in learning, educational progress, and achievement. The Maryland State Department of Education (MSDE) is committed to providing the highest quality and most updated equipment available through the Loan Bank.

Work Details
The selected Offeror shall provide MSDE with three pairs (six in total) of behind-the-ear rechargeable hearing aids equipped with Rogers microphones. The specifications are as follows:
1) One pair for mild to moderate hearing losses (L50-PR in lava red);
2) One pair for moderate to severe hearing losses (L70-PR in blue ocean);
3) One pair for severe to profound hearing losses (L90-PR in electric green).
All equipment must include a five-year manufacturer’s warranty covering repairs, reconditioning, and replacement. Additionally, the bidder must provide new, unused hearing aids and include a minimum five-year loss and damage insurance policy.

Period of Performance
The anticipated term of the contract will begin upon issuance of the notice to proceed and will expire twelve (12) months thereafter.

Place of Performance
Materials will be delivered to Zella Shabasson, Audiologist Consultant, Division of Early Intervention and Special Education Services, 9th Floor, Maryland State Department of Education, 200 West Baltimore Street, Baltimore, MD 21201.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with mandatory requirements including providing new, unused hearing aids; having a reputation for quality and customer service; including a minimum five-year loss and damage insurance policy; and demonstrating knowledge of accessible design that meets minimum accessibility requirements as established by state and federal law.
