Background
The Maryland Department of Transportation (MDOT) is seeking to utilize the services of engineers and architects for comprehensive Geomatics Engineering Services. The State Highway Administration (SHA) has certified the need for these services to support their operations, which include various land surveying and geomatic engineering tasks.
The goal of this contract is to provide high-quality, accurate, and precise land surveying services that will serve as a foundation for design transportation projects, property rights acquisition, and infrastructure monitoring.
Work Details
The contract encompasses a wide range of land surveying and geomatic engineering services including:
- Field surveying services
- Bathymetric and hydrographic surveying
- LiDAR scanning and photogrammetric mapping
- Computer-aided drafting and design (CADD)
- Boundary and right-of-way metes and bounds surveying
- Right-of-way acquisition support
- Records research
- Planimetric and topographic mapping
- Geodetic control services
- Utility designation and location services
- Stakeout services
- As-built services
- Maintenance of traffic support
Specific tasks include establishing GNSS horizontal/vertical control, performing differential leveling, preparing field sketches, submitting electronic data files in required formats, conducting various types of surveys (topographic, planimetric, ADA surveys, etc.), remote sensing data collection using LiDAR technologies, map development compatible with SHA standards, boundary surveys, plat preparation, GIS database integration, and providing on-site staff for project assistance.
Period of Performance
The duration of the contracts will not exceed five (5) years from the date of award.
Place of Performance
Services will be performed statewide across Maryland.
Bidder Requirements
Firms must be registered with eMaryland Marketplace Advantage (eMMA) to receive a contract award. They must also comply with all applicable laws and regulations including SHA policies. All individuals supplied by the consultants must complete SHA Core Training courses prior to starting work on-site. The consultants are responsible for ensuring that all personnel meet certification requirements relevant to their roles.
