BC-235-201-003 Joseph D. Carter Elevators Upgrades

Background
The Maryland Department of General Services is issuing a contract for the upgrade of three existing hydraulic passenger elevators at the Joseph D. Carter District Court located in Leonardtown, MD. The goal of this project is to modernize the elevators, ensuring they meet current standards and improve functionality for users.

Work Details
The project involves a complete turnkey modernization of three existing hydraulic passenger elevators, which includes cab finishes, associated machinery, and electrical and mechanical work. The work will be conducted in phases to minimize disruption to the facility's operations.

Phase 1 includes final design, submission and approval of submittals, procurement of materials, and delivery. Phase 2 involves completing the remaining work with substantial completion expected within 240 days after the Notice to Proceed. The contractor must maintain all services including HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and security systems throughout construction.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence within 14 days after the Notice to Proceed is issued, with substantial completion expected within 240 days from that date.

Place of Performance
The work will be performed at Joseph D. Carter District Court located at 23110 Leonard Hall Dr., Leonardtown, MD 20650.

Bidder Requirements
Bidders must comply with Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) requirements and submit necessary documentation as part of their bid. A bid bond is required for bids over $100,000. Bidders must also provide proof of insurance and performance/payment bonds if awarded the contract.
