Asphalt Overlay CY2025

Background
The St. Mary’s County Government, through its Department of Public Works & Transportation, is seeking to establish a contract for asphalt overlay services for various locations within St. Mary's County, Maryland.

The goal of this contract is to provide necessary asphalt overlay services in accordance with Maryland State Highway Administration specifications. The estimated budget for these services in Calendar Year 2025 exceeds $3,000,000.

Work Details
The contractor will be responsible for furnishing and delivering all materials, labor, and equipment necessary to perform the asphalt overlay work at unit pricing specified in the solicitation.

The specific items to be provided include:
1. 3" Bituminous Concrete 9.5 mm & 19mm Asphalt Repair - 500 tons
2. Bituminous Concrete 19mm Base; Wedge and Leveling - 500 tons
3. Bituminous Concrete 9.5 mm Surface Course; Wedge and Leveling - 38,000 tons
4. Bituminous Concrete 9.5 mm Driveway Entrances - 500 tons
5. A/O Paving Fabric or Equivalent - 500 sqyds.

The work includes base asphalt installation at a depth of approximately 2.5 inches and surface asphalt installation at depths ranging from 1.5 to 2 inches as directed by the inspector. All driveways must be completed within ten calendar days after the completion of adjacent road work.

Period of Performance
The contract period is set to begin in Spring 2025 and all work must be ordered by December 31, 2025.

Place of Performance
The contract will be performed at various project locations throughout St. Mary’s County, Maryland.
