Annapolis State House Comprehensive Landscaping

Background
The State of Maryland, through the Department of General Services, is issuing this solicitation to secure organic landscaping services for the Annapolis Public Buildings and Grounds at the Maryland State House.

The primary goal is to maintain a healthy and aesthetically pleasing environment at the Maryland State House located at 100 State Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401.

Work Details
The contractor will provide comprehensive landscaping services including:
- Bi-monthly weeding of existing planting beds and tree rings;
- Monthly mulch refresh;
- Application of organic pre-emergent and monthly spraying for weed control (pesticides are prohibited);
- Deadheading and fall cut back of perennials;
- Selective pruning of shrubs;
- Removal of refuse during work;
- Weekly fall leaf removal from late October until mid-December.

Specific plants to be used include winter pansies, tulips, and dragon wing begonias, all in specified colors representing the Maryland state flag. All work must adhere to safety standards and guidelines set by relevant authorities. A project manager fluent in English and Spanish must be present during installations. Plant materials are warranted for two years except for annuals which are warranted for one year.

Period of Performance
The contract will commence on March 1, 2025, and will run until February 29, 2028, with options for two additional one-year extensions.

The services will be performed at the Maryland State House located at 100 State Circle, Annapolis, MD 21401.
